Wind Lidar Buoys
Metocean buoys, lidar buoys, and other instrument/sensor carrying buoys, need reliable motion measurements to motion compensate pay load sensors, or to collect motion data for post processing.
The small size of the NORSUB MRU makes it ideal for buoy applications. The MRU can be delivered with a high-end magnetometer to provide accurate heading as well. This is useful for calculation of directional wave spectra etc. The NORSUB MRUs come with onboard real-time FFT analysis that is used to output significant motion amplitudes and peak frequencies.
The output protocol can be customized in the configuration software and the data can be logged internally on the MRU and downloaded later if needed.
