Wind Lidar Buoys

Metocean buoys, lidar buoys, and other instrument/sensor carrying buoys, need reliable motion measurements to motion compensate pay load sensors, or to collect motion data for post processing.

Wind Lidar Buoys

NORSUB MRUs are ideally suited for buoy applications due to their compact size.

The MRUs can be equipped with a high-end magnetometer, enabling accurate heading measurements. This feature proves valuable for calculations such as directional wave spectra. Moreover, NORSUB MRUs include onboard real-time Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis, providing significant motion amplitudes and peak frequencies as output.

The output protocol of the NORSUB MRU can be customised through the configuration software, ensuring compatibility with specific system requirements. Furthermore, the MRU allows for internal data logging, enabling storage of measurement data within the device itself. This data can be conveniently downloaded at a later time if necessary for further analysis or reference.
