Structural monitoring of blow out preventors (BOP) requires reliable motion sensors to measure inclination and lateral displacements.
The NORSUB Subsea MRU can be used to measure the roll & pitch angle in addition to oscillatory lateral displacements.

Communication over very long cables are often needed in subsea applications. The Subsea MRU & inclinometers has 2-wire RS-485 communication with Modbus RTU. This enables serial communication for cables up to 3000 m for lower baud rates.
