Accurate heave measurements play a vital role in compensating for wave radar measurements when installed on ships or other floating vessels.

For optimal performance, the NORSUB Marine MRU can be installed in close proximity to the wave radar. Alternatively, the NORSUB OEM MRU (available upon request) can be integrated directly into the wave radar system.

The NORSUB MRU excels in wave radar applications due to its exceptional accuracy in measuring heave, even in the presence of irregular waves that vessels encounter at sea. This ensures precise compensation of wave radar measurements, resulting in more reliable and accurate wave observations.

In addition to heave, the NORSUB MRUs provide access to all motion data through a custom protocol. This enables the utilization of other motion measurements, if required, for wave radar compensation. The NORSUB MRUs offer versatile communication options, including Ethernet and serial communication (RS-232 and RS-485), ensuring compatibility with different systems and facilitating seamless integration into existing setups.
