Floating Wind Base Motion Monitoring
Floating wind foundations require monitoring of movements and structural integrity for both the floating wind base and turbine as well as the anchoring system. Movements outside the normal operational envelop of the wind turbine can be detected and turbine speed can be reduced keep within the operational envelop of the wind turbine.

For these applications, Norwegian Subsea’ accurate new generation Accelerometers, Motion Reference Units and inclinometers are essential.
For Tension Leg Platforms, the integrity of the TLP tendons is very important. A failure of a TLP tendon can be detected by the accelerometers and subsequently the wind turbine can be shut down to avoid further damage.
